Oh, by the Angel. City of Heavenly Fire hasn't even hit the bookstores, and we have a snippet from the first book of The Dark Artifices (set in Los Angeles, 2012), Lady Midnight. MIND. BLOWN.
The cycle hit the beach and spun out. Emma went into a rolling crouch as she flew free of it, keeping her elbows in, pushing the air hard out of her lungs. She turned her head as she hit the sand, slapping her palms down to roll herself forward, absorbing the impact of the fall through her arms and shoulders, her knees folding up into her chest. The stars wheeled crazily overhead as she spun, sucking in her breath as her body slowed its rolling. She came to a stop on her back, her hair and clothes full of sand and her ears full of the sound of the wildly crashing ocean….
Emma Carstairs! I love her already. And I'm shipping Emma and Julian already (even though they don't exist yet). Obviously she's kick some demon ass... or faerie ass. I don't care which.
Lady Midnight will be released in March 2015 (That. Is. So. Far. Away. DAMN.)

Random Stuff: CoFA, CoLS, CoHF and The Dark Artifices movies?
It's like a Thoughtful Thursday post or one of my Surreal Sundays. But I can't wait for Sunday and I missed Thursday. And it IS a random stuff, in a way.
So, City of Bones will hit the theaters in 4 months, and The Infernal Devices has been optioned as a movie adaptation (which, by the way, is the BEST NEWS EVER!!! I can't wait to see more Will and Jem and Tessa. I miss them so much). It seems like Cassie's novel will be a franchise for a long, long time.
And here's comes the fun part: Will the second cycle of TMI, which is Fallen Angels, Lost Souls and Heavenly Fire, be a movie as well?
Okay, it's already known that there will be City of Ashes and City of Glass movie if CoB is successful. But that doesn't include the second cycle of the story, especially when the second cycle is so different from the first cycle. That's a disappointment that they are not mentioned.
Personally, I think that will be a good thing that the second cycle will be made into movies as well. I love The Mortal Instruments, and on some level the second cycle is even better than the first (although I know that some of you guys out there don't think so...). But there's one important reason. I mean, how about you bringing all those feels on SCREEN? (Spoiler!) The second cycle is closely related (at least I think the relationship is close) to The Infernal Devices. And with TID being optioned as a movie adaptation as well, why not the second cycle of TMI? (End of Spoiler)
But ironically, some part of me DON'T want them to be movies. One big reason is that I'm so scared that they will mess them up when CoFA and CoLS are so sophisticated. Another reason is... the cast. If there's truly a CoFA movie, the cast will be... well, you know what I mean.
Another fun part: Will Lady Midnight, Prince of Shadows and The Queen of Air and Darkness be movies as well?
* I know that's a tad bit too early to talk about The Dark Artifices movies now. But I just wanna talk about it for whatever reason that I can't really see.
Lady Midnight is not out yet, so it's early to judge if they are worth making into movies or not. But I think City of Bones will be a franchise, and so will CoA, CoG and The Infernal Devices movies. It's no wonder that The Dark Artifices might be optioned as a movie adaptation as well. But then, I don't know how Lady Midnight will turn out, so guess we'll just wait and see. But personally, if TDA is awesome, I will definitely want to see Emma Carstairs kicks some demon butt on screen.
(And please don't ask me if I want a TLH movie or not because it's FAR TOO EARLY. At least TDA is something in the foreseeing future. XD)
Do you guys want The Infernal Devices movies? Or are you just anticipating for TMI movies? Judging the awesomeness of TID, I think I'm already seeing the movie title THE INFERNAL DEVICES: CLOCKWORK ANGEL.
(In fact, I want TID movie even more than TMI movie...)

Thoughtful Thursday: TLH by Cassandra Clare
So now... do you remember what I said in this post?
http://smoking-hot-books.blogspot.hk/2012/12/surreal-sunday-another-shadowhunter.html
It's not surreal anymore! Looks like it's myth
Here's what I've picked up:
1. TLH is set in 1903
(Wait, does that mean I get to see TID characters? *cough* *cough* Will *cough* Aww, I'm already squeeing right now)
2. The main characters in TLH are 16, 17
(If you have the collector's edition of Clockwork Princess, do a little math based on the family tree and see who will be 16 or 17 in 1903, although I have a little doubt that those characters will be in TLH. I hope they will be, though)
3. TLH is something without a deadline
So that means... Is there a possibility that they will be released at the same time as TDA? My body is so ready.
4. Five Shadowhunters series!
Four trilogies and TMI! Aww, I'm so gonna read all the books. That means... 18 Shadowhunter books. (Wishful thinking already)
5. There will be some The Bane Chronicles characters
Magnus? But Magnus was heading to New York! Unless.... wait, I have a theory. What if that's about Shadowhunters in 1903 MOVING TO NEW YORK/LOS ANGELES? And I totally want more Magnus! Although that won't be confirmed until sometime in the future...
6. The chronological order of the series.
TID - London, 1878
TLH -Unknown Place, 1903
TMI - New York, 2007
TDA - Los Angeles, 2012
Unknown sekrit project - Unknown Place, 2015 (from TMI source)
I am really curious about the sekrit project. It's set after TDA... future Shadowhunters? Yes please! I can't wait to see technology vs Shadowhunters, if that's the case.
***
Thoughts about the five series:
Well, Cassandra Clare is one of the greatest authors since mankind is created. The Shadowhunters are just fascinating and I can never get enough of the smart jokes from characters. TMI is the first series I read and I started Clockwork Angel right after I read City of Fallen Angels. And those books captured my heart right when I turn on the very first page of City of Bones. And now, I've finished The Infernal Devices trilogy and
Sorry I can't hear you over my shrill screaming :D

Teaser Tuesday: Unidentified Snippet by Cassandra Clare
Another unidentified snippet! This one...ot as spoilery like the last few ones, but it's a aint-that-the-truth one.
They said it was better to know your enemy, but how did it help to know that your enemy’s one weakness was your weakness, too?
And this time, I truly have no idea what this comes from. Come on, it can be in Clockwork Princess, City of Heavenly Fire, The Dark Artifices, or even from The Bane Chronicles.
Jeez.

Teaser Tuesday: Unidentified Snippet by Cassandra Clare
One heart-stopping, gut-wrenching, palm-twitching, toes-curling, brows-sweating unidentified snippet from either TMI, TID or TDA!
“Take London, my love, and turn it all to blood,” she said. “My gift to you.”
***
Response:
Well, London. So it can be Clockwork Princess, huh? But SHE said? The Dark Sisters? But I don't think Tessa will do that to London Shadowhunters. Unless it's in Mortmain's point of view...
It can be in City of Heavenly Fire too. Since that... well, the second Mortal War will probably be held in Idris, which is in... Europe. But the reason to turn LONDON and not IDRIS or NEW YORK to blood is beyond me.
It can be in The Dark Artifices, although in this current stage I can't imagine why. It's set in LA, right? What's the point of turning LONDON to blood? Unless it's in the second or even the third book of TDA. I guess.
Anyway. The gift is utterly horrible. I don't want London turned to blood even though she's not my favorite city.

Not Understand: Haters of TMI, TID, TDA, Cassie
Why I release this post? It's not a review. It's not information. It's not even a theory. But I think I have t release it because I am just getting so freaking tired of the haters of TMI, TID, TDA or Cassie herself (I don't care which, as long as they are merely the same)
Warning: It's just my opinion here. I am not attacking anyone.
*Why I have the feeling that it's gonna be just like an argumentative essay... in a lame version*
The hating thing starts at The Mortal Instruments. And after some time observing the Internet, I've found some reasons. One is because of City of Fallen Angels. They think that TMI should end in City of Glass and not starting the second part of the story. Yes, I admit that the second part of the story is not about The Mortal Instruments anymore. But to me it's still an interesting story. I just don't understand why SOME readers hate TMI when they hadn't even read CoFA and CoLS. Another reason is because of the fandom (especially Tumblr). They think the fandom is beyond crazy and they hate them for being such an annoying fangirl/fanboy. I hate annoying fangirls/fanboys too. But I don't think that's a good enough reason for hating the series itself. Obviously it's the fans' problem for being such a jerk. Stop saying the second part of the book is rubbish, will you?
The second wave is towards Cassie herself. This is the most annoying part of it. I think throughout months I can see some reasons claimed by the former fans/haters. But their reasons are just unreasonable. Cassie is a good author even though she constantly breaks our fragile little heart. But her words are good. I know that some of the guys out there claimed that her writing skills is getting poorer. Well, I can't blame the guys for that, but again it's not the reason to send words to attack her. And here's the strangest reason on Earth. Some fans hate her because of her heartbreaking words. Seriously if you are heartbroken by her books to a point that you will never recover you can just stop reading them or whatever. You can't blame her for trying to impress us with strong words.
The hatred towards TID is just plain annoying. One reason is that TID is not as good as TMI. Well, I am not trying to be rude or something. But it's just bullshit. Either you've never read TID before or you're so naive that you didn't understand it. Again that's just my opinion. Another is that the TID fandom is EVEN MORE crazy than the TMI fandom because of the whole love triangle thing and the Brother Zachariah thing. Again this is the fans' problem. You can't blame the series for some extreme guys being all-out fangirl/fanboy. Another is that the guys claimed that TID is just like TMI when Will is like Jace, Tessa is like Clary, and Jem is like Simon. I can't say they are not related. But it's a different story in TID. And even Will is different from Jace in many ways. So is Tess and Jem. I just don't understand why people are saying that TID is EXACTLY like TMI.
TDA haters are the most ridiculous of all, because the series hasn't even out yet. I know that some fans worry that TDA will be just like TMI and TID, with all the heartbreak and angst and love triangle. I understand that. But how can you be so sure when the book hasn't even release? And Cassie said that Emma is very different from Clary and Tessa, and Julian is very different from Jace and Will and even Jem and Simon. Their relationship is not like Will/Tessa, Jace/Clary, Clary/Simon, Jem/Tessa. So why not try a different taste from TDA? Some also said that a new series that is also about Shadowhunters is boring. I bet it will not. After the war in CoHF, thing will be really different in Shadowhunter world. Here's the whole package here: new stories, new characters, new relationships, new settings. And I just don't understand why some guys despise TDA.
If I am being rude here, I am sorry about that, but I think I have to say my opinion out loud.
Warning: It's just my opinion here. I am not attacking anyone.

The Dark Artifices Theories from fans: Is Julian Blackthorn a secret Herondale?
Well, I've seen many things like that:
IS JULIAN BLACKTHORN A HERONDALE?
Well not likely.
First, seriously, how come he is a secret Herondale?
If you are telling me that Julian's real father is Stephen, then I can tell you, Amatis's original first name is Graymark (Since that she is Luke's sister), and I don't think he had married the third unknown woman.
And is there any other Herondales except Jace? This is one interesting theory, but I guess that Imogen had an only son (which is Stephen). If there's another, I would like wow, you are now playing your tricks? Again?
Cassie said that Julian is really different from Jace and Will. Not just their faces but their personality as well. And we know our lovable Herondale boys: Sad in heart, Sarcastic to others, Stubborn. I don't think Julian is one of them. (Unless he is pretending?)
And the thing is, in some ways it's not really good to center the Herondales in all 3 series. The Herondales have already played the biggest part in TID, and a fairly big part in the first 3 books of TMI. So it's not that good to center the Herondales in TDA.
Still, I will miss the Herondales when Clockwork Princess and City of Heavenly Fire are released.
I will DEFINITELY miss their sarcastic remark and their selflessness and... love.
But if Julian is a secret Herondale, I think TMI and TDA will be too alike, and that's one thing I don't want in TDA. I want some new things. And Emma Carstairs is a good example, because she is a real heronie at the first place(Unlike Clary and Tessa, which that the two of them are so much alike). And she can definitely play blonde jokes(Clary and Tessa are a little bit too serious to me). Which is one of the things I love most in TDA.
And I am looking forward to Lady Midnight.
It's an interesting theory, but I think I like Julian Blackthorn more than Julian Herondale.
