City of Bones Movie Tie-In Novel

You guys probably know that every book that was made into movies has a movie tie-in version of the book with the cover of the movie poster or something like that. And City of Bones' gonna have one!

Look at this little piece of info below (originally from here):

According to Amazon, the movie tie-in for CITY OF BONES will be released on July 9, 2013 in paperback.
There hasn’t been an official announcement yet so this news isn’t confirmed.
Nowadays there are most always a movie tie-in when a book is adapted into a major motion picture.
There is no cover art at this time, but there’s a possibility it could be the teaser poster, which was unveiled by MTV a couple of weeks ago. But a future poster featuring the characters seems most likely.
Also according to Amazon, the CITY OF BONES graphic novel by Th3rd World has been pushed back from May 2013 to an August 6, 2013 release.

5 Comments About City of Bones Trailer and Cassie's Wish List

The first trailer is out! If you still haven't seen it, which I'm sure it's almost impossible, you can watch it below:

So here's what I like about CoB Trailer:

1. The Cast:
Let's face it. Few can call Jamie is not right to play Jace now. Remember the window-kicking and back flipping scene? He is so Jace, okay? They look so perfect. They are just the characters. And it seems like they portray the book really well.

My favorite ones besides Jamie is definitely Kevin and Robert. I have no idea why Kevin and Jamie look so parabatai to me. Call me crazy, but I saw shadows of Will and Jem in Kevin and Jamie.

And Robert... you know, I have a little doubt on him at first because I saw Logan Lerman as Simon at first. But just as they started filming, Robert is the perfect Simon. Lily looks really cute with him. Although I can't really imagine how he will be like in City of Ashes, esp. when he becomes a vamp. But I have really high hopes on him, as much as all the other cast.

2. The Fighting Scenes

I have to start off with one sentence: THE FIGHTING SCENE IS SO PERFECT! You know what, my favorite one is definitely when Jace is smashing the window of the car with his foot. Damn, you have no idea how cool I think it is. The back flip and those flame throwers? Why all of them have to look so Shadowhunters?

I think I have to gain more control, cuz I am pretty sure I will break into all-out fangirl mode and can't stop my shrill screaming when the movie's finally out.


3. The Places

Well, I guess you all know that they were shooting some of the scenes in Toronto and not New York. But I can't see any traces of Toronto in the trailer. Even Java Jones... it just looks like they are actually in New York. That's a good thing, cuz sometimes I have the weird ability of telling that the cast is not shooting in places that where the story should be.

One of the best is probably the Pandemonium Club. It looks way darker than I thought it would be. Yeah, I picture them as a, you know, place that where drug dealers hang out. With all those crazy disco lights and people who are obviously high on the drugs. But this one? It gives me a feeling of darkness, not just some drug dealers' place or drugged teens. I have no idea how the crew can do that, but I'm glad they can do it.


The trailer is perfect, but it's not perfect enough. There are still some flaws.

1. The characters, particularly two.

The first is definitely Magnus Bane. Where. In. The. Holy. Hell. Is. Magnus? I know the whole Malec thing didn't start until City of Ashes/ City of Glass/ City of Fallen Angels (Whenever you wanna call it). But seriously, I wanna see Magnus. He just looks so hot to me. And even though Alec will not hang out with Magnus in CoB, it's quite a dissapointment that I can't see him in the trailer *Ugh.

Another one is Brother Jeremiah. The problem is his face. I know, Silent Brothers are not the most good-looking people on Earth. And they are mysterious. They are tend to look dark. But come on, surely their face won't be that bad. I mean, what if Will/Jem become a Silent Brother? I can't bear to see their faces like that... unless Brother Zachariah (who is rumored to be Will/Jem) is much better.

2. No hot scenes

To be honest, I can't even tell whether this is a bad thing or not. Because there is a good side of this "problem". This trailer is exciting enough. And surely the first teaser trailer won't give out too much information (even if we know all the details. Duh). I don't want my heart break through my chest too soon. And honestly, I wanna concentrate on the fight scenes in the first teaser trailer.

But not seeing the smoking hot Greenhouse scene is still a loss. But I can understand why. Surely all the fans in the theater will go all fangirl when they see Jamie kiss Lily in the Greenhouse. And maybe this is a good thing to them, because at some point, going fangirl too soon is not the best for the fans. Yet, I really wanna see the infamous Greenhouse scene.

Oh, and here's what Cassie wanna see in the second (there's a second one!) teaser trailer of City of Bones.

“What I really hope they show in a new trailer is Magnus’ party and more of Magnus,” she said. “I think that probably it’s not in the trailer because those are heavy CGI scenes with a lot of effects, and there’s just no way to do them that quickly, so I’m really looking forward to seeing that. There’s a certain flying motorcycle that I’m looking forward to seeing. There’s some great fighting stuff with Aidan Turner and stunts with Jonathan Rhys Meyers and Lily Collins that are going to be really fun to watch.
“And, of course, I hope they’ll include a little bit of the greenhouse scene, which is really beautiful. I think people would love to see a bit of that.”

Are you giving teasers to us, Cassie? Are you saying all these just to torture us? I wanna see the second teaser trailer, like RIGHT NOW!

Cassie surely knows how to get under fans' skin.

Damn, I need to save all the money and buy all these DVDs and go the theater.

The cast looks just as I imagine!

I can't stop myself from fangirling.

(There's no words to describe my feelings now.)

What I want to see in TMI Teaser Trailer

It's 4 days away from our big event of this month: The launching of City of Bones movie teaser trailer! So, since that I am so freaking in love with The Mortal Instruments, of course I need to write this little article. I wanna see the teaser trailer that is pure perfection.

So here's what I wanna see:

1. Pandemonium

If you don't give me a Pandemonium scene, I am sure I will go kick some Sony Pictures ass. Come on, you know that not only that's the first encounter for Clary of the Shadowhunters (including Jace), Simon is freaking there! And it's suppose to be the very first scene in City of Bones. Shouldn't the teaser trailer include that awesome (and funny) scene?

I think the Pandemonium club will be like, the coolest club in the whole world. It's in NEW YORK for crying out loud. The hotness definitely go up for at least a hundred degrees. And seeing the cast in action? I will definitely faint in front of my computer. But what I really wanna see is not just the... conversation between Jace and Clary. I wanna see the killing demons in action. Don't you think seeing Jamie kill a demon will be the most awesome thing on earth? I think that's one of the scenes that should be exactly a replica from the book.

2. Greenhouse scene

If I will kick some ass when they don't give me a Pandemonium scene, I am sure I will kill someone if you don't give me snippets of Greenhouse scene. Come on, this is the freaking INFAMOUS Greenhouse scene for Angel's sake. I really wanna see teasers of one of the hottest scene since mankind is created.

Lily and Jamie kissing... well, I'm not so sure about what will actually happen in the midnight Greenhouse, but maybe I wanna see the witchlight. And the hot kiss scene, perhaps? Or even more, Simon will pop out from nowhere and discover what Clary had done? Perhaps I don't care, I just want a teaser of the Greenhouse scene.

3. Demon slaying scene in Clary's house

Oh that's definitely need to be display on screen. That's one brutal scene in City of Bones. And seriously, this movie is about a bunch of demon killers. If you don't have the Ravener (Is that what they called?) running around Clary's house in the teaser trailer, I will be super pissed. Come on, I wanna see how Clary actually kill that disgusting demon ON SCREEN. Don't tell me that's not gonna be awesome.

4. Some of the Institute, I think

Well, the Institute scene is not the most exciting scene, but I love their bickering. Maybe there will be some Institute scene like Isabelle tells Clary that's the Institute? I think my jaw will hit the floor if I actually see the Institute.

5. Magnus Bane

The warlock. Alec's future lover/mate/whatever. Don't you think Magnus is hot? And he's the one who took Clary's memories away. I think I will be really thrilled to see Magnus Bane in the teaser trailer. And I am sure I will definitely think more than 1) oh he's hot and 2) so he's the guy who put a block in Clary's memories. Ha.

6. The Silent City

Speaking of the Silent City, I thought about how they bring out the Silent Brothers and the City of Bones. I know that seeing the Silent Brothers in action is not the most peaceful scene. But oh my god, don't you think seeing them ''talk'' in a really ''silent'' way is interesting? And the Silent City herself... you'd better make cool scenes in the Silent City, or like I always do, I will go kick some butt.

7. Valentine

Yeah, Valentine. I am curious about how he will talk to Jace and Clary. I think he should be somehow like talking in a rather soft way but with great threats behind? And isn't Jonathan the perfect guy for Valentine? In some ways he's so villan-like. I really wonder how that scene will turn out.

So I think that's all I want to see. Although I really like to see some jokes and sarcastic remark, I think the ones above are my first priority.

I think I will fangirl for days after I see this trailer.

Oh. My. Gods. It does sound like a goodbye. No, I don't want Will and Jem to say goodbye to each other. This will definitely break my heart. I can't bear one of them will walk straight to the danger alone. This is so wrong. Although there is a possibility that it's others who say those words. Still it's the most horrifying thing to say.

Another new Clockwork Princess Snippet has been released. And god, this one is smoking hot! Check it out:

Her throat ached: adoration, heartbreak, in equal measure. “Kiss me,” she said. “Please.”

Who is she talking to? I think fans can be sure that the one who is talking is Tessa. But who is listening to her words? Will? Jem? I prefer he is Will because I think there will be no heartbreak when she is with Jem. And even though she adores both boys, no doubt she loves Will in a way that is really different from her love for Jem. 

And just in this moment I think about the DSDS thing. Is that from our mysterious DSDS? Maybe. And if it is, it will definitely be smoking hot. (Although I doubt the DSDS will be written in Tessa's perspective)

Now it's the big thing in Clockwork Princess: Who the hell is Brother Zachariah?

In TMI source the builder says that Will can be Brother Jeremiah and Jem is Brother Zachariah, since that if Jem/Will choose to be a Silent Brother and the other will often choose the same way because of the parabatai thing.

But to me I think if the two of them are Silent Brothers, Will can be either Brother Jeremiah or Brother Zachariah. And so is Jem. If they're gonna be Silent Brothers, it doesn't really matter who is Jeremiah and Zachariah.

Well, at least they wouldn't die if they become Silent Brothers...until the death of Brother Jeremiah in City of Ashes.

Ugh, if Brother Jeremiah is either Will or Jem, and one of them died in City of Ashes, I am sure I will cry like hell. I wonder what will be like for Will/Jem and Tessa if Will/Jem died in City of Ashes.

City of Bones Movie Set Day 3

Oh. Wow. It's on set for 3 days now!

So they are filming in Java Jones, which is the cafe scene. Where Jace's supposed to follow her to and sort-of-drag her away from Simon. I love that scene. But the question is, will the scene similar to the one in the book? I hope it will, cuz the scene's hilarious.

I am so sorry guys, but I have something bigger if you haven't already known.

That is Jessica Postigo is working on CITY OF ASHES SCRIPT!

Man, it's CITY OF ASHES, not CITY OF BONES!

They are freaking working on the sequel.

So I guess that TMI movie will still rolling until the end of City of Heavenly Fire!

This is one great and big news to TMI fandom.

And yeah, I guess CoA movie will be much more interesting since that it's obvious that CoA is better than CoB in some ways.

But one thing that is not so good to me is: WHY THEY DON'T WORK ON CLOCKWORK ANGEL SCRIPT!

You know what, I think Clockwork Angel will be a great movie.

And I have a feeling that there will be no Clockwork Angel movie until the filming of City of Ashes movie at least.

God, I always picture the name The Infernal Devices: Clockwork Angel on IMDb.

Hope that CA movie will happen soon enough. I don't wanna miss it simply because of public exams!

But now I can picture the name The Mortal Instruments: City of Ashes now.

That is so awesome!
