Angel Fever: Review

Synopsis:

As half-angel Willow strives to save the world from her parasitic otherworldly kin, romance and tension heat up to a climactic finale.

In the devastated remains of the world, millions of people live in "refugee" camps provided by the angels who have all but enslaved humanity. As this angelic stranglehold tightens, Willow and Alex are recruiting and training new Angel Killers while struggling to hold ground on the celestial battlefield. But Willow continues to have feelings for Seb, and her love and resolve are tested as a shattering revelation sends Alex on a separate journey. Now that the final battle versus the angels is about to begin-and the fate of the world hangs in the balance-each of them must face the consequences of their own choices. Will love endure? Will the human race survive?

Oh my god I can't even believe I'm actually reading Angel Fever! I'd been waiting for this for almost two years and I got my hands on it yesterday, finally! Angel Fever is just freaking crazy, especially on the emotional ride part. Another angel apocalypse... in a Blood of Eden way (if you read Blood of Eden then you will know what I mean). It's just... this book strikes me speechless. I can't put it down until I finish the whole damn thing and, well I get black circles around my eyes today.

The tight twists of plot are what breaks me first. I was like "holy crap, did you really just pull this off?" My jaw is practically hanging open the whole time I'm reading the book. This didn't happen when I read Angel (Burn) and Angel Fire. The author surely knows how to pull of surprises like that. Hell, calling those twists surprises will be an understatement.

But the emotional journey is what breaks me wide open. Because while my mind is functioning normally, my heart just isn't. When it comes to... a certain devastating part, my mind has doubts about the truthfulness of the event because it doesn't make sense. But my heart is breaking like someone is smashing it into millions of pieces. Or when my heart understands a certain someone's devastation, my mind is very irritated that the certain someone just can't get over the anger. It's official. This book is an emotional wrecking ball. I can't believe I'm still mentally sane after all the emotional...smash, I guess.

Overall this book is just amazing. It's really fast-paced and surprisingly brutal on some levels. And you can easily fall in love with the characters that are just plain strong and really sensitive. Damn, I can't believe this is the last freaking book because I already miss the characters and the world where angels are the destroyers of the world. I can never get enough from this series.

Cover Reveal: Angel Fever by L.A. Weatherly

Finally, after more than a whole year waiting for news, time for some angel burn!\

Okay, that is really weird.

I mean, Willow isn't like the ones in Angel and Angel Fire. And I think the Willows on Angel and Angel Fire is much better.

And yeah, even though I kind of know there will be three guys on the cover, the cover still disappoints me. A lot. Like what is with all the faces? You've gotta be kidding me.

But I have to say the background is awesome. Blue and purple. I love this.

And let's say I care more about the contents than the cover, even though I have a feeling that it will be even longer than Angel Fire and Angel Fire has 709 pages. Damn, I think it will be as thick as an Oxford Dictionary.

We've Got A Release Date!

Finally I can find some news for Angel Fever! It's the release date of it.

Thank god it's not that far away.

April 23, 2013.

Not THAT far away, but still, far away.

Like I said before, anyone who haven't read it can just go buy this book and flip it open. You're gonna love this book.

And here's a summary:

Theory Time: Angel Fever by L.A.Weatherly

Lately I've been obsessed in L.A.Weatherly's Angel trilogy... again. There's still quite a period of time (2013!) from the release of the final book, Angel Fever. Have some theory time, shall we?

Well, Angel (or Angel Burn if you live in the US) is mostly about running from the Church of Angels. And Angel Fire is mostly about training a new bunch of AKs. So I think this one will be all-out battle chaos.

I really have no idea whether this will end well or not because there are no one freaking sign from Angel or even Angel Fire. Hope this will end well because Alex and Willow look so innocent together. I hope Willow can return home and (wishful thinking) her mother will be normal again.

But things will never end so well. Maybe one of them will die. I don't think Willow will be the girl who dies again because she had died and came back in the end of Angel. Maybe Seb, although I really like him. He's a cool guy. But there's a good chance that he will sacrifice himself for Willow, which I'm not really thrilled by this idea.

And Alex dying is even worse. If things won't end well on him. I guess there are only two ways. One is him dies. Just thinking about that makes me wanna hurl and vomit. But somehow the second choice is even worse, because (maybe) he will get Angel Burn and turn against Willow and Seth. That's probably the worst way for Alex EVER.

As for the angels... well, I hope they will all just freaking go away and leave Willow alone. I hope that's the only option. Because... well, after what Raziel (extra: Raziel is a good guy in TMI...)did to Willow and the Church of Angels is a great threat to human beings. They should just freaking go to hell (like, literally). Or I will like Seriously you can't end like this. I will kill you.

I have a feeling that maybe some sort of miracle will happen in Angel Fever. You can say this is insane, but I can't shake the feeling off. Hope that there's actually miracle in the world because... after all the heartbreak (Deity, Clockwork Prince, Hallowed... I can't), just give me a damn good ending. Or I will go crazy in 2013.

Now it's the minor part: Who will be on Angel Fever cover (UK version of course)?

I have a feeling that Willow will still be on the cover. That's a little bit boring, considering she's already on the covers of Angel and Angel Fire. But she's the main character. We can't blame the designer for that.

I think Seb will be on the cover this time. I have high hopes on that. Alex is on the cover of Angel Fire. Shouldn't Seb be on Angel Fever's cover? And I am thrilled to think about Seb on cover. Hope that he's really hot (Ha)

And the oddest of all, also the funniest of all, is Alex/Seb. Two boys, on Angel Fever's cover. Don't you find that really amusing? Maybe it will ease a little bit if three of them are on cover at the same time. Still, it's hilarious just to think about it.

So, are you excited? If not, maybe you should just read Angel and Angel Fire. They are awesome books. I have no idea why they are underrated and not popular.

Flashback Friday: Angel by L.A.Weatherly

Another Flashback Friday. Guess I'm that boring.

So, ever heard of an author called L.A.Weatherly? She's not one of those famous authors. But her book is good. Like, really, really great.

You may not find this familiar, especially to American readers. Maybe you will recognize the one below. Although I think the UK version (yeah, the one above is the UK version that I have at home) is much prettier.

They are the very same book. Although the US version is called Angel Burn, and the UK version is simply just Angel.

Let's back to the chase. Here's the summary:

Angels are all around us: beautiful, awe-inspiring, irresistible.

Ordinary mortals yearn to catch a glimpse of one of these stunning beings and thousands flock to The Church of Angels to feel their healing touch.
But what if their potent magnetism isn't what it seems?
Willow knows she's different from other girls. And not just because she loves tinkering around with cars.
Willow has a gift. She can look into people's futures, know their dreams, their hopes and their regrets, just by touching them. But she has no idea where she gets this power from.

Until she meets Alex…
Alex is one of the few who know the truth about angels. He knows Willow's secret and is on a mission to stop her.
The dark forces within Willow make her dangerous – and irresistible.
In spite of himself, Alex finds he is falling in love with his sworn enemy.

***

You know what? That book is just freaking underrated. Surely you've seen so many YA novels about angels like Fallen by Lauren Kate. But this one is so different. Because well, we always thought that angels are good guys because they have a heavenly heart, bright halo, beautiful faces and bodies, things like that. But now, in Angel, they are still beautiful. But they are also deadly. And most of them are certainly not one of the good guys. That makes it so interesting it stands out from other typical ones.

I think one of the few not-so-good things in this book is that it starts out really slow. I had no idea what was going on at first when I first read it (of course I do now). I know things shouldn't be cut to the chase that quickly, but the story stretches a little bit too long.

Another not so good thing about it is that the book is mostly about Alex and Willow escaping from Church of Angels. I want something more interesting to happen. Like some more attacks. Some more threats, and the story will be excellent.

But the good things? They are irresistable. I know that's definitely not the best word to describe it. But the book is so innocent, despite the whole Willow-is-a-half-angel part. Their relationship is really relaxed AND relaxing. There are so many passion in other famous YA novels. The Infernal Devices is one of them. I appreciate the passion. I LOVE the passion. But I need some break from all the serious heartbreak, and this is one of the books that I will go to.

The last part of the book where Alex and Willow are in Denver are absolutely amazing. Pure perfection. It will not drive you crazy. But this part will definitely drive your emotions. It's so intense and loving. After the whole Willow-dying part, their reunion is definitely the best thing and the most relieving thing. I love how L.A.Weatherly write Angel. Or I should simply just say. I love Angel Trilogy.

And really, I have no idea why people don't notice it in bookstores. It should be one of the books on your bookshelf.

I hate that when the publishing date has to delay. This is a horrible act. This is FORBIDDEN in my world.
