Welcome to Shadowhunter Academy by Cassandra Clare: Review

Synopsis:

After living as a Mundane and a Vampire, Simon never thought he would become a Shadowhunter, but today he begins his training at Shadowhunter Academy.

***

Ah, Simon's story. After that certain event in City of Heavenly Fire, I'm ecstatic for Simon's return. He's changed quite a bit. Because he's not exactly the Simon we know so well. Yet he's still Simon nonetheless, and I still love him wholeheartedly. It's mostly light and fun, with a lot of humorous moments... with a Lovelace. Yes, a Lovelace. But despite all the good moments in the Academy, there are still things Simon finds distressing. Given that he's a human and is comparably less racist, I can completely understand what he's feeling. I love him even more for it, because he's still the brave guy in The Mortal Instruments, despite all the things that happened to him. I'm kinda excited for the next nine novellas, particularly one with a certain Herondale.

Rating: 8/10
