Tessa couldn’t help herself; despite everything, she giggled. “It laces,” she whispered. “In the back,” and she guided his hands around her until his fingers were on the strings of the corset. She shivered then, and not from cold, but from the intimacy of the gesture.

Practical guess 1: Cyril

Well... Cyril is one of the caretakers in London Institute. Helping with Tessa is nothing surprising. But Tessa shivering because of the intimacy from Cyril? That's not making much sense.

Practical guess 2: Jem

The best answer will be Jem. Jem is Tessa's future husband. Tessa getting assistance from Jem is anything but surprising. And it also fits the shivering-with-intimacy part. I bet he is Jem.

Crazy guess: Will

The theory is crazy in several ways. First, why will Will help Tessa with her corset is way beyond me. Second, why will Tessa let Will help with her corset is still beyond me. But the theory fits in many ways too. The shivering part fits well, better than Jem. And even though I don't know why Will (if that's him) will help Tessa with her corset, it's not that surprising. But still, it's crazy.

So I think the best guess is Jem, then? Although a part of me hopes that he's Will.
