Clockwork Princess: Snippet

One very painful snippet from Clockwork Princess! Since the whole synopsis is out, I can't get my mind out of the theory of Tessa-is-an-angel.  So here's the snippet:

“Will.” Tessa caught at his wrist. “You would not abandon me now — not leave me the only one who still hopes? I cannot do it without you.”
He took a deep breath, half-closing his shadowed blue eyes. “Of course not. I will help. I will continue. It is only —”
He broke off, turning his face away. The light that came down through the window high above illuminated cheek and chin and the curve of his jaw.
“Only what?”
“You remember what else I said to you that day — that day in the drawing-room?”

Great, now I have to peer the most painful-to-watch scene in Clockwork Prince AGAIN if that's what Will's talking about. Seriously, Cassie, are you trying to break our heart into little pieces before we even have the book? I will not try to guess what Will are trying to say. And Tessa is hoping for what? A cure for Jem? A way to defeat the Magister? Jeez, this is the first killer-snippet of the year.
